Cat disaster preparation: supplies and evacuation plans on one page
During a disaster, protect yourself and your household and follow municipal evacuation instructions. This is a guide for preparation beforehand. Using official Japanese government references, our editors organized a blank planning note—not an official form.

Travelling together is not a promise of shared shelter space
Evacuating with a pet describes the journey to a shelter, not sharing a living room there. Ask the municipality about conditions for cats and where people and pets stay separately; a short 'pets allowed' label is not enough.
Give supplies a known storage place and responsible person
Group water, food and litter supplies where your household can find them. Record amounts and inspection dates using municipal guidance and your usual use. Keep prescribed medication instructions from the clinic; this guide does not set doses or use.
Editorial planning table: record your storage place, responsible person and inspection date
Preparation

Clinic contact / original instructions / questions for the clinic
Record shelter candidates together with their conditions
A shelter name alone does not establish where your cat can stay or what to bring. Keep the official URL and date of each check, marking unknowns as unknown. Reading national guidance is not the same as confirming your local plan.
Destination, route and municipality contact
Cat admission rules, accommodation and required supplies
Alternative carers and their prior agreement if admission is difficult
Prepare carrier use during ordinary life and share storage places and responsibilities. Recheck after a move or changes to your household or cat's care. In a real disaster, people's safety and municipal instructions take priority over completing a note.
People's safety, everyday supplies, carrier familiarity and checking municipal evacuation rules. Not a guarantee of admission to an individual shelter.
